Staff was hopelessly without knowledge of race level biking. The staff also proceeded to tell me I was wrong to hopefully push me into a sale with the low quality products in stock, the y should have offered to look and order. Shop seemed unable to provide good service to high quality bikes. The stores selection was very limited, primarily trek; the staff pointed out, "Thats what we sell in the mid-west." I suppose my mid-west is bigger than one small town. This policy limits selection to find a bike that fits you the rider not the stores pocket book.
A small store with a unskilled staff that preys on unsuspecting customers due to lack of local competition. It will be worth the drive to Bloomington or Aurora.
Love this bike shop! Bought three great bikes here, and the staff was wonderful all three times!
i bought a bike for my lady over there and they helped alot. the sales guy knew what he was talking about. they helped me get her a perfect bike.
Also the bikes seemed to be overpriced in general, specifically a used trek selling for $3,000 when retail was 4,000$ new. The bike is also past season and was the property of the owner. Used bikes sell for 50% of retail, especially when a past model. You must also take into consideration the owner purchased it at cost not recommended retail price. From my experience working in a retail shop this puts his cost at around $2,000; no where near the 3,000 being asked.
Good, helpful people and fair prices!
Don't waste your time even going in, its only frustrating.
Bike Works ROCKS! This was my first road/race bike purchase and they made it so easy! Very knowledgeable and helpful in finding the right bike for me without being pushy or trying to up-sell anything. I had to order the type of bike I wanted as they did not have it in stock. Ordered it on a Monday afternoon and received a call Wednesday morning that it was in. They fit it to me, explained all maintenance, answered all of my questions. and made sure I was 100% happy with my purchase before I left with my new bike. They were great and I look forward to keeping business with them for a long time!
