I'd leave 0 stars if possible. Had an accident at 2 am. Car is 2 hours away from home. Enterprise is the only rental company in this GOD FORSAKEN TOWN and they won't rent to an out of state DL without a major credit card in my name. Really?!! I'm a nurse, stranded in the middle of nowhere and they won't rent to me. No greyhound nearby. Nothing. After crying, they finally recommended a dealership 25 minutes away. But still....0 stars.
I rent from enterprise fairly often for work. But now they constantly are changing managers and you can never keep up! One manager says this but the other one says that. They prices are outrageous. I am furious. This location is awful. I have never gotten my refund back. They told me to wait 24-48 hours and it should be there. I wanted 4 days! And I still don't have the money!!! They do not care about there customers at all. They are rude, very unprofessional, and very unorganized. The new manager ruined my experince to enterprise. I will never rent from them again.
I had reserved a car online for Peru, IL pickup, the location called and confirmed it the day before, then again the day of except that there were two different versions given to me. Upon arriving to rent my car I learned that the car they had reserved for me was indeed wrecked and had significant damage in addition to burn holes inside and smelling like smoke. The manager of the location did however apologize, but the fact was my only options were to take that car and stop along my trip to exchange. Not knowing if there were mechanical issues also. I opted to wait till the next morning and not leave for my trip hoping another vehicle came in. One did and I was able to rent that vehicle, however renting a day later the manager said there wouldn't be a difference of price but after calling customer service it was suppose to be less. Also, during the upsetting of renting somehow I was charged every addtl even though I waived on my reservation and explained to the manager I had insurance that covered rentals. I was told they no longer print receipts only email them.....caution do not allow this because you won't know the true charges till you get an email. Unfortunately my trip was a disaster since I did not make it to my visitation in time.
Despite having enterprise's rewards card and reserving a car online ahead of time, picking this car up was like pulling teeth. For whatever reason, the guy behind the counter insisted on calling my employer to verify employment. When he was told that they don't disclose any information, he needed copies off my utility bills and multiple forms of id. When I told him that the website only said I needed my drivers license and insurance card, he rudely told me that he had to verify employment because I used a debit card. It's a visa debit, and I rented from another branch about a year ago with it, no problems. Then he informed me that HE was the manager (I never asked for a manager) and that was how it was.. and that's it. If there were another choice in town, I would have been there immediately. I can't for the life of me understand why you need to verify employment to rent me a car. I wasn't asking for a loan, and quite frankly, it's not your business. As long as the transaction goes through, and my license and insurance are valid, you keep out of my business. This experience will be my last with enterprise.
When I made my reservation I emphasized that I needed to be in and out as quickly as possible. They were ready for me; however, the car needed some quick maintenance before we could take it. Also, the maintenance required light ws on as we traveled 3 states away and back.
