I personally felt that the owner really helped me understand a lot about guns. I bought a gun and, having little knowledge of guns, he really provided me with the basics and helped me choose exactly what was best for me. He really was able to come down to my level and explain things in a way that made sense.
Great place to shop for all your firearm needs, particularly if you need expert advice. You'll be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable firearms retailer, particularly so compared to big box stores. Mark W. helped me find exactly what I wanted in a gently used pistol. I probably would have selected a new firearm of lesser quality without Mark's guidance. After asking me some questions about how I wanted to use the gun, my preferences, and having me feel various grips, Mark deduced that I needed a lighter and easier trigger pull, but not necessarily a compact pistol as I had mistakenly thought given my stumpy fingers (this was intended for home defense, not as my carry weapon). He was spot on correct. I ended up spending the same or perhaps a bit less than I would have if left to my own devices to choose, and of all my firearms, this .45 has remained my absolute favorite at the range, no arm fatigue after firing, and far more smooth and enjoyable to shoot than my dainty looking 9 mm Ruger which has a long and choppy feeling trigger pull by comparison (a model marketed to women FYI). I trust Mark to give me solid advice on condition, selling, buying, trading, or insurance values.
The owner of this store has an ego large enough that I almost decline to give him any of my business. If it weren't for the fact that he offers the only reloading equipment in the area, that is.
Really, just buy what you want and don't ask this jerk of an owner any questions. He will try to make you look dumb over anything you try to talk to him about. He has questioned the type of powder I was buying as if he knows what's best and as if I haven't done any research before asking for it. Every person I know who has went there has said the same sort of things about the guy. He really thinks his, uh...stuff don't stink.
Not to mention, his prices are really high. So, unless you find yourself in a last minute bind for something really needed, I would recommend avoiding this shop and ordering what you need from the internet. This man simply does not deserve your money with the attitude he affords his customers.
Full supply of guns, ammo, and reloading supplys.
